The Catch, encaustic on panel 48" x 48" $5900
Introducing Ron Eady
Opening Friday, November 18th 6-9PM
The works in my current series are inspired by the surroundings where I have a seasonal studio in Muskoka and the nearby Shadow River. The starting point for many of these pieces is based upon old black and white snapshots or polaroids but evolve into more imagined situations. With these works, I like to explore the feeling of unsettled or elusive imagery, I want to create an atmosphere of uncertainty. - Ron Eady
Hamilton-based artist Ron Eady was born in Toronto into a long line of craftsmen, his father being a piano cabinet maker, and his grandfather designed stained glass windows for churches. Ron spent his formative years focused on drawing. He attended a secondary school program for the visual arts then went on to study at Sheridan College in Oakville with further studies at Ontario College of Art.
Ron currently works in the encaustic medium, acrylics, oils and sculpture with wood. His work has been exhibited internationally and his paintings are held in collections in the USA, Canada, Japan and China.
The exhibition runs from November 18 through to December 2, 2016.
